Rumors had been building for months, but Lewis Hamilton and Kim Kardashian have now given fans their clearest confirmation yet. The Formula 1 champion shared a series of personal moments on Instagram, making their relationship public for the first time.
The post quickly gained attention across social media, especially as it arrived on a day marked by emotional family news for the Kardashian-Jenner family.
Lewis Hamilton, 41, officially introduced his relationship with Kim Kardashian, 45, through an Instagram carousel posted on Thursday. The collection featured several candid moments captured during a day at the lake.
One photo showed the pair sharing a quiet moment together on a boat. Another included a playful video in which Kardashian grabbed Hamilton before both fell into the water laughing. The final image showed Hamilton wrapping his arm around Kardashian’s shoulder while she wore a hoodie from his lifestyle brand, +44, tied around his waist.

Hamilton kept the caption simple, writing, “Hold your people close.”
Kim Kardashian responded with a heart emoji in the comments, while her mother, Kris Jenner, also liked the post.
Earlier, Kardashian had shared her own lake photos on Instagram featuring Hamilton and her 8-year-old daughter, Chicago. She captioned the post, “Summers at the lake with my favorite people.”
A Relationship That Slowly Became Public
Hamilton and Kardashian have been linked for several months through multiple public appearances before confirming their romance online.
The pair were first spotted together at Kate Hudson’s New Year’s Eve celebration in Aspen, Colorado. Reports later suggested Kardashian joined Hamilton for a romantic weekend in the Cotswolds, England, during January. They also attended the Super Bowl together in early February.
Since then, the couple has been photographed together in several locations, including Lake Powell, Arizona, Tokyo, the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California, and Malibu, California.
Their connection also has an interesting history. In 2014, Hamilton attended the GQ Men of the Year Awards with then-girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger, while Kardashian arrived with her then-husband Kanye West, now known as Ye. Hamilton later developed a friendship with Ye and reportedly joined the family for an Easter celebration in 2015.
Instagram Post Coincides With Family Loss
Hamilton shared his relationship update just hours after Kris Jenner announced the death of her mother, Mary Jo Shannon. Shannon died on Thursday at the age of 91.
Jenner shared the news on Instagram. She wrote, “Today, we said goodbye to my beautiful Mommy MJ. There are no words that could ever capture what she has meant to me or the heartbreak of having to say goodbye. My mom was the heart of our family.”

Soon after Hamilton posted the photos, Kim Kardashian honored her grandmother with a heartfelt tribute on Instagram.
She wrote, “My sweet Grandma MJ, my best friend, my gossip buddy, my forever twin… You taught all of us the importance of family, and those values are something we’ll carry with us forever!!!!!”
Kardashian also remembered the life lessons Shannon taught her. She wrote, “You were the woman who showed me what it meant to be a hardworking businesswoman. You gave me my very first job at your store in San Diego and taught me lessons about work ethic, strength, and confidence that I’ve carried with me ever since.”
She ended her message with another emotional note. Kardashian wrote, “You always believed in me, championed me, and were my safe place. You truly were the matriarch of our family, and your love is woven into all of us. I know you’re at peace now.”
Lewis Hamilton and Kim Kardashian’s Instagram posts officially confirmed their relationship after months of public interest. The couple shared personal moments from their time together, while Kardashian also paid tribute to her grandmother, Mary Jo Shannon, following her passing. The posts highlighted both a new chapter for Hamilton and Kardashian and an emotional moment for her family.
